Welcome to the Economy of Francesco in the United Kingdom.
The Economy of Francesco (EoF) UK Hub is part of the global network of EoF hubs working to shape a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Rooted in the Economy of Francesco Covenant, this community seeks practical ways to build an economic system to better the lives of all people, leaving nobody behind.
Local action and dialogue
Alongside the global EoF gatherings in 2020 and 2021, the EoF UK hub hosted gatherings in London and online to bring people together people around shared economic values.
- In 2020, we held a virtual meet-and-greet and a classic British Pub Quiz, sparking dialogue and connection.
- In 2021, we held a local gathering at St Mary Moorfields in London featuring a workshop by the Global Sustainability Institute.
Participants explored both practical actions in their communities and broader research, including a paper bridging theology and science around climate justice and sustainability. Despite strong intentions, life’s demands, including time pressures, changing life circumstances, and other commitments, meant the group was not able to sustain ongoing collaboration and see the fruits of these efforts.
Our common commitment
In 2022, young economists, entrepreneurs, and change-makers from around the world, including the UK, came together at the EoF Assisi Event. There, they co-authored a final statement and common commitment for a new economic paradigm, organised around the twelve thematic villages of the Economy of Francesco.
The time is now
Since then, it is fair to say that the EoF UK Hub has been dormant. But energy is bubbling beneath the surface! Across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, inspiring people, communities, and groups are re-imagining what a fair and sustainable economy looks like in practice.
With the EoF Global Event 2025: Restarting the Economy taking place this November, it is time to re-energise and re-imagine the EoF UK Hub.
